Brittany

I've been away for a little over a week to the beautiful town of Pont Croix in Brittany.  We had a fantastic time with lots of fresh seafood, Muscadet, bread and cheese and trips to almost deserted beaches.
Its very much like the Cornish coast but with very little people, great surf (although I didn't as forgot to organise wet suits - it is the Atlantic after all!) and stunning scenery.
The crochet is coming along nicely and I fell in love the the Bretagne lace making which is similar to crochet but worked on a loom, something I'd like to have a go at!

Today's card is one I made before I went away.  I saw the idea in an earlier copy of Papercraft Essentials and as I have sooooo many buttons, I thought I'd have try.  I was happy the way it turned out and am now thinking Robins and Snowmen for Christmas (am I thinking Christmas now my summer holiday is over?)

Rain, rain go away

Its Thursday and its raining.  Not just drizzle or a shower but properly raining.  3 Hours now.  Non stop.  Well it was a good opportunity to get my lovely Mum in laws card made for her birthday at the end of the month.
I received a lovely paper pack collection in this mornings post (Melody Ross designer collections which was a steal for £7.50 from wwwcraftsuperstore.co.uk) and decided to make her a really feminine card using Cricut's Indie Art bird and Tim Holz tatterered florals die.

I have also been teaching myself to crochet via Youtube and my ever patient friend Mary.  I have managed to make four rolled roses, using the same pattern, all turned out different sizes. Well you know what they say.  Practice makes perfect!
This is my very first granny square, which will in time become a beautiful cosy throw.  Himself asked if we were going to have one of those old fashioned ratty blankets in our bedroom.  I told him they are 'vintage' and its trendy.  Never keeps up with fashion my man!

Monday,Monday. So good to me

A beautiful morning here in Windsor.  Took the dog to our local park where the Mill Stream runs parallel to the Thames.  SHE wouldn't pose for a photograph, well she did actually but moved as I pressed the shutter, so I took a snap of a boat instead!
Today's card was one I made a couple of weeks ago for one of our lovely teachers at school who is leaving to have a baby.  I wanted to get a vintage feel and what better 'vintage' than to have nappies hanging from a washing line. I remember of row of dazzling white nappies flapping in the wind when my baby sister was born.  Mum was a proud housewife!

A touch of Whimsy for Sunday

What a lovely Sunday morning here in Windsor.  We decided to have a bike ride out to one of our favourite places, Dorney lake.  Luckily the National Rowing Champs are finished and the entire site is open to the public.  The Olympics are going to be so special here and our lucky family and friends have tickets to see two events.  If you have been put off visiting our country by recent events, DON'T BE.  There are beautiful places to visit and the majority of people are perfectly normal!
Today's card is all about soft gentle colours and celebrating life.

A ring of wishes

Its Saturday morning and I haven't figured out how to upload new stuff I've made from my ipad onto the blog (it's going to be a learn as I go along kind of thing).  I made this card a few weeks back now and the beauty of it is that all the little scraps that you keep (as they're too pretty to throw away), get all used up to make this card.
I am planning on tidying up the creative space as I want a clean slate to begin creating something new later on today.
My significant other is out looking at new bicycles and the teenager is in the garage (gym) training to impress the new girl in his life so alls for me to do is to get on with it.  Have a lovely Saturday!

This is it.

Well I've finally made it into blog world. My blog hopes to follow my efforts in the wonderful world of just plain old making stuff. It might not be useful stuff, but I will make sure it's very pretty stuff.
